Information we collect
We collect information you choose to provide through the contact form: your name, email address, inquiry category, message, and optional contact preference. We do not require an account to use this website.
If nonessential analytics are enabled and you consent, we collect aggregate usage information (such as pages visited and approximate region) through a configurable analytics provider. Analytics are disabled until configured and, where required, until you consent.
How we use information
Contact-form submissions are used solely to respond to your inquiry and provide the services you request. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use contact-form details for marketing without your separate consent.
Cookies and consent
Essential functionality on this site does not depend on tracking cookies. A consent banner lets you accept or reject nonessential analytics and, where third-party advertising is enabled, advertising cookies; your choice is stored in your browser and can be changed at any time via the "Cookie Preferences" link in the footer.
Advertising
This site may display advertisements. Ads sold and served directly by Travel Technician use first-party, privacy-conscious measurement: we count ad impressions (recorded only when an ad is actually viewed) and clicks so we can report campaign performance to advertisers. Clicks pass through a first-party redirect that records the click before sending you to the advertiser.
To distinguish repeat clicks from unique ones, we compute a short-lived, one-way hashed value from limited request information (a hashed, truncated network address and a coarse browser signal) within a configurable time window. This "unique click" method does not store your raw IP address and does not build a persistent profile or cross-site browsing history of you.
If third-party advertising networks (for example, Google AdSense) are enabled in the future, their scripts and cookies will load only after you grant advertising consent, and those partners' own privacy policies will govern the data they collect. Directly sold ads are unaffected by the advertising consent choice because they use no third-party tracking.
Advertisements may include referral links and promotional codes; using them may share standard campaign parameters (such as a source or campaign identifier) with the advertiser. Data retention
Contact-form submissions delivered by email are retained in the recipient mailbox in line with ordinary email retention. Where optional database storage is enabled, submissions are reviewed and deleted when no longer needed, and no later than 24 months after receipt unless an active client relationship exists. Advertising analytics events (impressions and clicks) are retained for a configurable period (365 days by default) and then purged; aggregated, non-identifying campaign totals may be retained longer for reporting.
Third-party services
This site links to separate services — including CardMaster (cardmaster.traveltechnician.info), the Travel Technician blog (blog.traveltechnician.info), Instagram, Facebook, and, when configured, Calendly for scheduling. Each has its own privacy practices; this policy covers only www.traveltechnician.info.
CardMaster is a separate application with its own accounts. This website does not access CardMaster user data.
